Tesco Home Insurance

Supermarkets are all about convenience – everything you need under one giant roof, and often at lower prices than you might find at smaller retailers. Indeed Tesco now applies its ‘every little helps’ policy to home insurance (also known as ‘house insurance’ or ‘household insurance’).
Tesco home insurance has a number of special offers. For example, until April 02, 2008, the company offered a 35% online discount plus a free annual travel insurance policy worth more than £100. By using its service, you can now choose between buildings insurance, contents insurance and a combination of the two.
There is cover up to £1m available on buildings insurance as well as up to £25,000 of the sum insured to secure alternative accommodation if the worst happened. In terms of contents insurance, Tesco offers new-for-old replacement cover on items except linen and clothing. There is accidental damage cover for TVs, videos, audio equipment and computers as well as freezer contents up to £250. All of these benefits come as standard with a Tesco home insurance policy.
Furthermore, there are a number of optional extras available. These include personal possessions cover away from home, family legal protection and further accidental damage cover.
