    Re: Pet Insurance Query

We've never made a claim (dog is extremely healthy,as is our adopted) so I'm going to apply for a new policy. Am thinking this may also apply to our other human policies. Read somewhere that as an existing customer I may be able to get a better deal if I apply as a new customer!!! Seems us loyal customes are paying for new business. Don't even start me on what I'm paying for my Virgin Media phone & broadband account:-(

    Re: Pet Insurance Query

The thing is that similarly to human insurance, if you apply for a new policy you will not be covered for anything he has suffered from in the past.

I suppose the insurers say to themselves, "The dog must have had a lot of things wrong with him in seven years, so there will be plenty of things that we won't have to pay out for."

If your dog has had a fairly healthy life, there is nothing to stop you asking for a reduction to the same level they are offering for a new customer.

    Pet Insurance Query

Hi, hope someone will read this!!

We have a 7 yr old Rottweiler who has has been insured since he was 8 weeks old. We pay £26.71/month to E & L. We recently adopted another Rotty a couple of years younger who is not yet insured so I decided to do a search using the older dogs age to see if we could save some money. Cheapest quote (using this site) was £15 odd for Bronze cover. Same company's most expensive option was Diamond cover at £17.50. The company? E & L. Firstly, how can they justify this and does this happen in other areas of insurance? I'm thinking of cancelling the policy and reapplying as a new customer. There's no reason why I can't do this is there?
