My NCD was transfered to my husband, can I get it back?

My NCD was transfered to my husband because he was named as the regular driver on my policy when we sold our second car. I don't think I was told of this and now we have two cars again, I have been told that the NCD can not be transfered back and I must start again.

Its been two years since he was added to my policy and anything with proof of my previous NCD has been sent when policies have been set up. I should have 7 years NCD and my husband insured his new car with old proof of his 5 years.

Is there anyway I can get my NCD back?

There are insurers who take account of joint named policies as NCD proof, not sure who but Direct Line is one I think (if both cars there)... it would become obvious I hope if you compare some insurance quotes on here or confused... HTH
