I am due to start Maternity Leave next week (baby due in December)

I have a £1000 overdraft and this is used every month (wages go in = overdraft gets used again) However with SMP I will not be getting £1000 per month going into my account

I want to get rid of my overdraft but I am not in a position to pay it off

Any recommendations?

Maybe a credit card to pay it off??? (not ideal but I really can't see around it)

If you apply for a 0% interest Egg card whilst you are in work that would give you until next Dec 2010 to clear the £1k overdraft + 3% transfer fee...as long as you can exercise self discipline and end the overdraft facility altogether when it's paid off.

Never use the Egg card for anything else and pay at least £86 into the card every month, you could clear that balance in full by this time next year without incurring any interest at all.(£30 fee)
