    Re: RAC Insurance renewal fiasco

    Hi

If you were minded, you could submit a complaint to the RAC about the handling of the renewal and advise them you will be contacting the FSA if you do not receive a satisfactory response.

The FSA may be concerned by the issues with the RAC's IT system and the processes in place. They could look into this the next time, they are due an audit.

The RAC may perhaps decide to send you the £30 M&S vouchers as a gesture of good will.

Super Angry [8o|] RAC Insurance renewal fiasco

I received an Insurance Renewal Quote from RAC totalling £292.75. I rang them to accept and pay only to be told actually the price is £302. I queried this with the salesperson who checked the details, everything was correct and nothing was changed but the price on their system had now gone up to £318. The salesperson apologised and said she was unable to alter the price but would send £30 in M&S vouchers if I wanted to proceeed. Having wasted 20 minutes on the phone already I agreed and provided my payment card info. After a further lengthy delay the salesperson explained that the price had now inexplicably gone up to £334. After giving the salesperson a piece of my mind I told her to forget it, got some new quotes online and am now insured with Admiral for £198 a year. I switched my wifes over to them as well saving a further £50.
