    Cheap calls to mobiles

I believe there is an international number which can be dialled and allows landline to mobile calls for 2p per minute. Does anyone have the number please?

    Hi Jenny
I regularlly phone my sister's mobile in Thailand. Firstlly, I dial 0911 210 0800 and then, when prompted, I dial the Thai mobile number. I find this service very good, e.g. 13 minutes 09 seconds to the Thai moblie recently cost me £2.32.

Or install Skype on your PC if you have broadband. I have used this for foreign mobiles very happily for about 1p per minute - but check rates first, some countries are more expensive - including calls to UK mobiles.

Tescos are selling phones for £14.97p which you can link up to your computer (software provided) and then phone around the world for 2p to land lines and 10p to mobiles per min. If the other person has a Tesco phone (which you can send to them) and they are online then the call is free. Very handy when having relatives living abroad,

Moneysupermarket are looking at quite closely at the VOIP market right now and are considering ways in which we can help consumers find the best VOIP deals.

The new Tesco Internet Phone deal is a very good deal for beginners but on call charges other providers such as Skype and Vonage have better tariffs.

    Re: Cheap calls to mobiles

Was about to sign up with this Vonage package. Decided to check the BT pricing structure before hand. For example, the woman on the end of the phone with Vonage said that calls in teh day, evening and weekend to 0870 numbers were 10, 7 and 5p respectively. For BT they are: 7.50, 3.50 and 1.50 respectively. Have to say (and yes it chokes me!) BT are still the cheapest!

... but then there's BT the line rental!

BT aren't necessarily the cheapest - if you're willing to use Carrier Pre Select then visit this website to get very cheap landline or mobile calls.

Mmmmmmmmmmm, looks OK. Am I not reading the website right or does this company not use VoIP for outbound calls Jason?

    Re: Cheap calls to mobiles

    Hi there

You mean Loiol? No it's carrier pre select phone numbers not VOIP - what this demonstrates is that VOIP calls are not necessarily the cheapest and CPS can sometimes be better value for money.

    Hope this make sense?

    Cheers

    Re: Cheap calls to mobiles

To solve your problems, use the 18185 service.
You can't go wrong. For a normal landline call you get charged 4p connection and that's it. You could talk to your friends/family for an hr or more and only pay 4p connection day or night.
Also, if you phone a uk mobile on a weekend, it only costs 2p a min and 6p mon to fri.
This service works on a BT line and has saved me lots of money.
For the lady who phoned Thialand, with this service, you could have made the same call to a landline or mobile for a fraction of the cost. 1p per min.

    Re: Cheap calls to mobiles

I just checked that site out. Deys, Not bad if you want to become an agent and earn some money, but it certainly isn't the cheapest service provider. To prove that the 18185 service is probably the cheapest service for people in the U.K.
