    In Need of help!!

I was previously in a property with Pay as you go electriciy meters, and was paying about £10 a week for electricity. This property was a 3 bedroom house, which i was sharing with a friend

I have now moved out of that property into a small two bedroom flat, which is only occupied by myself. I am hardly there as i work full time and spend the weekends out. I contacted NPower who were the supplier for the previous tenant. I have only had one letter, but it doesnt say how much i am looking at spending each month. Im trying to budget for everything but have no idea about tariffs etc.

Ive looked on there website to try and guide me but still i cant seem to grasp it.

Can someone please give me advise as to what service and provider i should be using to ensure im getting the best possible deal. I feel like a fish out of water.

I would be so so grateful to anyone who can help. Im really worried im going to end up with a huge bill in a few months time.

    Thanks

    :)

hello i would personally sign on to internet tarrif with npower set up a dd off around £30-£40 avearge elec used in a uk house is around 3300 kWh id stay with n power for a quarter also try to give them your meter readings every month so the have a clear picture of your usage pattern, aswell then shop around has you will have an idea what your usage is and you may get a better deal else where

The previous occupant of the flat should have had the meters read when they moved out of the flat. You should have taken readings when you moved in and then registered with the company of your choice. If you have not registered with a new energy supplier, you will owe Npower for any energy YOU have used. You should contact Npower with a meter reading and ask them to send you a bill. If you need to arrange monthly payment, then you can do that.

May I suggest that you read the consumer direct page, link below.

    http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/EnergySupplyandPost/energysupply/563247/movinghome

Once you have sorted out what you owe to Npower, you can then use the comparison site to select the supplier of your choice. As the last reply suggests for a 2 bed, £30-£40 per month average does not sound unreasonable.
