    Re: MAC Code hell :(

Sounds ridiculous by both companies! It must be very easy to have this sort of thing happen if a person moves out etc! Have you tried calling sky, or whichever company you want, and telling them that you have only just 'taken over' the property from the 'previous tenant', ie your ex?? Sort of bending the truth, but I'm sure it must happen to tenants all the time, when one moves out &another moves in?

    Good luck!

    Thank you for your reply.

I checked my line and apparently there is broadband on my new number - all very confusing - how can there be if i have never ordered it and it is a new number??

It just seems to get worse and worse :(

You could try entering your new phone number here - it will tell you if an existing product is on the line or not.

    Other than that maybe Ofcom

    MAC Code hell :(

Please please please someone help me!!!!!

I am trying to set up broadband with SKY - they say i need a MAC code from plusnet - fair enough

Only problem is my ex set up the acct with plusnet and they wont talk to me without the password to the account, (fair enough i am all for data protection and security but i am still seriously frustrated!) which i don't know and my ex wont give me.

I need the internet for work and have 4 kids who need it to keep them out of my hair and do homework!!

I have called plusnet and SKY so many times i knwo the numbers off by heart and i seem to be going round in circles.

Would it make any difference that i have had to change my home phone number (malicious calls!!) - will i be able to set up my broadband as if i never had it before - therfore no tneeding a MAC code???

Please help me as i am at the end of my tether.

    Thank you
