OBSL?

    OBSL?

    This may be a stupid question, but when you seen the abbreviation (OBSL) listed after some cars available on PCP what does this mean? The quotes tend to be cheaper than models without the abbreviation?

    I think it's short for,"Off balance sheet lease", where you will never actually own the car and just rent it from new, until it's time to replace it, businesses find tax advantages to using this method, probably why it works out cheaper because that way only rent is paid for the use, and no value is ever acquired by the people leasing it.

    Bit like renting a house really, in simplistic terms.
