    Sainsburys loan 7.9% non existent jumps to 8.7%

    Filled in forms Sunday 5th,emailed me back to say in principle loan agreed,just needed to call them for extra security ,so rang Monday,on queue for 40 minutes,then anwsered with no apology for waiting,finally having gone through everything yet again,rate jumped up to 8.7%,even though it is still advertised as 7.9%,steer clear,they say the rate is variable,yet it is still advertised as 7.9%.Pass on.

    The advertised rate has to be offered to a certian % of customers only (around 30% I think) so yes the rate is variable and will depend on your individual circumstances.

    The Sainsburys website quite clearly states "The rate you are offered will vary between 7.9% APR and 11.9% APR depending on credit assesment procedures, your personal circumstances and the amount you borrow."
