I agree. It is only when tragic circumstances such as this hit our communities, that you value the dedicated service offered by the people that work for our emergency services.

The best way forward is for your friend to contact the bank and mobile company concerned. As she is leaving the country for good, they may be willing to accept a reduced cancellation fee, rather than the rest of the contract payments. If when she phones them she encounters any difficult, she should ask for details of their customer relations ...

basa: One of my creditors was Tesco PF. But now all the correspondence concerning this debt is headed RBS (with no mention of Tesco).Should I be looking for proof that this debt has been re-assigned ?
I think the loan agreement would have made it clear that that TPF was a joint venture between Tesco and RBS. Whether the terms of the agreement ...

Hi
I think the loans Tesco made were under the Tesco Personal Finance guise, which at the time was a joint venture between Tesco and RBS. Tesco has since bought out RBS from this joint arrangement. Perhaps they are too busy arguing about who owns the debts to be bothered about chasing them. I don't think the divorce was very amicable, if the ...

Braindeaddave has a point that if a modification had any affect on the risk then the Insurers could have declined the claim and voided the policy. This tends to happen where there has been a deliberate case of non disclosure of material facts, of which had the underwriter known, they would have refused cover. E.g. a car that had performance ...

I can't recall anyone who has come on here recently advising that they have had a low F&F accepted. I think the debts these companies are holding are so huge, that they are probably very reluctant to accept too low an offer. Perhaps those that have had offers accepted are told that they should not publicise this and therefore are ...

I have a feeling the judge who saw you knows that the cases will not be heard until January I would have thought. That is if the cases are heard at all. I would not be surprised if there was some internal pressure for the cases to be derailed, if they can do this. Pure supposition on my ...

Companies are very careful to ensure that replies should always be issued when recorded delivery correspondence is received. For the financial services companies I have worked for, the RD envelope was always kept stapled to the letter, just to remind staff. If a reply was not sent and a customer complained, there would be an enquiry ...

I found this info online about the Manchester test cases. I suspect these are the relevant ones.
"Five financial consumer claims cases will go before the High Court as test cases, in a move that will lead to decisions binding on all county courts.
The decision to hear the test cases came after counsel acting on behalf of Cartel ...

Obviously 2 different fronts to fight.
1) County Court action. You need to know what to do next. Rather than add a long post, see the debt advice trust page on this subject which I have added a link as it seems a straightforward guide. http://www.debtadvicetrust.org/resource/ccj/
2) Employment law issues. Go to local CAB to see if you ...
