Any leaflet on benefits usually quotes the savings threshold for that benefit. Last I heard it was £3k but I am certain it will have increased since then. You just need to go to a Job centre or benefits office and ask; you needn't say on whose behalf you are asking.

That is actually a really good idea. And lenders could market themselves on that basis - subscribers to a 'Code of responsible Lending' and all its inherent procedures.....

Richard, I can't see the line that usually indicates a signature, so just wanted to let you know that you can put your disclaimer into a signature and wouldn't have to type it every time....

The golden rule of cashback claiming is to read the rules, I am afraid. Even though you didn't actually read the T&Cs, what they say holds true for you nevertheless - if you think about it, it couldn't be any other way.
So this is your error and not theirs; you have failed to give all the ciorrect information, which you must do ...

If more people understood about a trust for sale, Court probably wouldn't be necessary.....
Likelyhood is that the OP and friend are already tenants in common seeing as they are not married nor cohabiting in the usual sense, so severing the tenancy really doesn't apply, whichever way round you get your terminology.
