• Tribute to PC Bill Barker.

Due to the extreme weather conditions and the overwhelming floods in Cockermouth, I would like to extend my sympathy to the appalling suffering of the many people affected by this catastrophic event. I would especially like to pay tribute and offer my sincere condolences, pay my respects to the extermely brave dedicated and devoted Police officer ...

  • Re: unchased CCJ advice

Yes, pay off the debts that you are admirably already striving to do, then bank any spare cash until / if you start being pursued by the creditor of debt 1....this allows you some time without pressure to clear 2,3 and 4 fully or to make larger payments to clear those faster if so desired. Worry about debt 1 when they start to worry or show some ...

  • Re: Virgin/MBNA Chargeback for services not delivered in time - Bank/FO refusing

Let us know the outcome & good luck.....£185/hour may be expensive but it dwarfs what you stand to lose, if you don't fully explore your options..... If you have a successful case; then you will be entitled to seek the full return of your legal costs anyway.! Speculate to accumulate.?

  • Re: unchased CCJ advice

As you are aware you are now committed to repaying debts 2,3 and 4 because you have made regular recent payments. The main question is what to do about debt 1 to Tesco that has not actively been pursued yet, but has already been issued a CCJ.? This pursual could be re-instated at anytime as you know within Six years, after that they would have to ...

  • Re: Virgin/MBNA Chargeback for services not delivered in time - Bank/FO refusing

I agree that section 75 would not cover you for reimbursement via the chargeback scheme as the payment was made through a third party, S75 is quite clear; in that the payment has to be made direct to the supplying party with whom the contract exists. Whether you have a case or not to hold Virgin liable for equal liability in this contract depends ...

  • Re: Debt assigned but no show on credit report

Unless you have had confirmation that the debt is written off it is still enforceable, the original creditor or the assigned debt collectors have the legal right to pursue and chase recovery of this debt for a period of Six years from the date of the last payment or acknowledgement. After this period expires; the debt would become statute barred ...

  • Re: The Bank of Scotland and Non ordinarily UK resident status

Good luck with your appeal. However, nothing states they have to open a new UK account.... in the opposite respects nothing states they cannot. Therefore the final decision is still at the banks discretion.....perhaps a favourable outcome from your FSA letter may hopefully encourage the bank to change their mind??...keep us posted

  • Re: Best way to go!

Ideally you need the early intervention of a experienced free professional debt counsellor, to discuss your finances and go through your financial situation current and expected with a fine tooth comb. This will serve to identify if there are non-essential savings that could be made in your household budget, or other entitlements that could ...

  • Re: Handing A Car Back On HP

Normally you do not have the right to hand the car back, at least not until half of the repayments have been made. I would strongly urge you to check your specific agreement.! You should apply for a settlment figure firstly on the outstanding finance figure and seek their permission to sell the car for at least that settlement figure (hopefully - ...
